Our Bespoke Design Service is a highly personalised, design-led experience that allows you to commission a one-of-a-kind accessory crafted exclusively for you — whether it’s a statement veil, sculptural headpiece, heirloom hair comb, or coordinating pieces for your bridal party.
Every bespoke design is handcrafted in our West Sussex studio, using thoughtful detailing, fine materials and expert craftsmanship to bring your vision beautifully to life.

1. Complimentary Consultation
Your journey begins with a relaxed consultation, available via video call or selected in-person appointments.
During this conversation, we explore:

Your wedding styling and overall aesthetic

Your gown, silhouette, and design details

Your hair, makeup, flowers and chosen textures
-
Any sentimental details or inspirations
-
What you want your accessory to feel like
This initial call ensures your ideas are fully understood before any design work begins.
2. Design Development & Concept Sketches
After your consultation, and once you confirm you would like to move forward with a bespoke design, a
£45 bespoke design fee is required.
This covers:

Time spent researching materials

Initial concept development
-
Hand-drawn design sketches
-
A detailed quotation with clear breakdowns
-
Any adjustments needed before approval
This design fee is fully redeemable against your final bespoke order — meaning it becomes part of your payment if you choose to proceed.
3. Approval & Deposit
Once you’re completely happy with your design, you’ll receive:

Your finalised design illustration

A confirmed quotation

Projected timescales

Material notes & bespoke details
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your bespoke commission and your place in the studio calendar.
4. Handcrafting Your Bespoke Piece
Your design is then meticulously handmade in the Garter & Veil studio with the utmost care and attention to detail.

During the process, you’re kept informed so you can feel confident and excited as your piece comes to life.
5. The Reveal
Your finished design will be beautifully presented in our signature luxury packaging, ready for your hair trial or dress fitting.

Important Notes for Bespoke Orders

Bespoke pieces require a longer lead time than our standard range of accessories
- We recommend booking early, ideally 3–6 months before your wedding

Bespoke designs are non-returnable and non-refundable

Designs can be created for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, and special events

Design Fees & Deposit
To ensure every bespoke commission receives the time, artistry, and attention it deserves, a £45 Bespoke Design Fee is required before design work begins.
This fee is fully redeemable against your final bespoke order, and allows us to dedicate the studio time needed to explore sketches, materials, proportions, and the creative direction of your piece.
The design fee covers:

A personalised consultation (video or in-studio)

Design development, sketches, and refinement

Material research and sourcing
-
A fully itemised quotation
Once you are happy with the proposed design, a 50% deposit is required to secure your commission in the studio schedule.
This deposit confirms your booking, reserves the materials for your piece, and locks in your quoted price for the duration of the project.
The remaining balance is due upon completion, before your piece is lovingly packaged and dispatched.
